Scheme Overview

PM-KISAN is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from the Government of India. Under the scheme, financial assistance of ₹6,000 per annum is provided to all landholding farmer families across the country, subject to certain exclusion criteria. The amount is transferred directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in three equal quarterly installments of ₹2,000 each via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) through Aadhaar-seeded accounts.

Eligibility Criteria

Ensure you satisfy all the following government conditions before applying:

1Farmer family must own cultivable agricultural land in their name as per state revenue land records.
2Aadhaar card must be linked to an active bank account with NPCI mapping enabled.
3Institutional landholders are NOT eligible.
4Beneficiary or family member must NOT be paying income tax in the last assessment year.
5Excludes current or former constitutional post holders, MPs, MLAs, mayors, and government employees (excluding multi-tasking / Class IV staff).

How to Apply (Official Process)

Visit PM-KISAN Portal

Navigate to the official PM-KISAN web portal (pmkisan.gov.in) and locate the 'Farmers Corner' on the homepage.

Click New Farmer Registration

Select 'New Farmer Registration'. Choose whether you reside in a Rural Area or Urban Area.

Authenticate Aadhaar & Mobile

Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, state, and active mobile number. Enter the captcha and click 'Send OTP'. Validate the OTP sent by UIDAI.

Fill Land and Bank Particulars

Enter state, district, sub-district, block, and village details. Input your survey/khata number, dag/khasra number, and land area in hectares. Upload your land ownership document PDF.

Submit and Complete e-KYC

Review entered details, click Save, and note down your Farmer Registration ID. Ensure mandatory Face e-KYC or OTP e-KYC is completed on the portal or PM-KISAN Mobile App.

Is e-KYC mandatory to receive PM-KISAN installments?

Yes, OTP-based e-KYC on the PM-KISAN portal or biometric e-KYC at common service centers (CSCs) or facial authentication via PMKISAN Mobile App is strictly mandatory for all beneficiaries.

Can tenant farmers without land ownership apply for PM-KISAN?

No, under current scheme guidelines, only farmers having cultivable land registered in their name in the State Land Revenue records are eligible.

How can I check my PM-KISAN installment transfer status?

Go to pmkisan.gov.in > Farmers Corner > 'Know Your Status'. Enter your Registration Number or Mobile number and captcha to view the latest installment and FTO (Fund Transfer Order) generated.
